Oh Happy Day!

Hi everybody. We just wanted to let those of you who follow Sarah's progress know what she did yesterday. You all know that with her stroke it left her with left side weakness, so when she does things it's mostly with her right hand only. Our days consist with her getting herself dress to the point where she can't go any further, and me finishing her up. Such as buttoning her up or buckling her belt if need be. So yesterday when she was done getting dressed she started combing her hair, and when she was done she asked me if I would put her hair up in a ponytail. I told her why don't you just try to put your hair in one, and then I will redo it, but just try. I could see her from my room in front of the mirror, and I knew she didn't want to do it, but she did try. It was real hard for her because not only is her left arm very weak her fingers don't work like ours do, and she can't feel anything with her finger tips. She would call out to me and say "mom my arm hurts or I can't do it will you just do it" I wanted to but,I told her no not until she tried. Well with much effort she did it, she put her hair in a pony by herself, and I didn't even have to redo it, because she did a good job. I wish you all could have seen her smile, it was a great moment. When her dad came home she couldn't wait to tell him. He just said thats great, but as a man I dont think he knows how hard it is to put hair in ponies, unless they have done one for their little girls, and if thats the case they are almost always do overs. Anyways today her dad came in and said that Nan(girls grandmother) was taking them out to eat, and that Sarah was getting dressed. I waited for her to come in and ask me to pony her hair so that she could go, well I waited and she never came she put her hair in a pony again. When she came home and I saw the ponytail she did, it looked really good. She was so proud of herself as were we. One small step for Sarah, One giant proud moment for mom and dad. Thank you Lord for another great day with Sarah.
Have A Blessed Day,
Sarah's Parent
