Thursday, May 10, 2007, Sarah fainted at school. She was taken to a local ER & then transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital with a diagnosis of restrictive cardiomyopathy.

July 5, 2007 Sarah received her new heart. However, during the transplant she suffered a massive stroke that left her paralyzed.

Tucson Update

Mom and Dad's picture

Hi everybody. The family is back home now, safe and sound. Sarah's heart biopsy went well. Before Sarah came back from her biopsy the nurse pulled us aside and told us that Sarah was so scared and nervous that the pain medication didn't work as well as it should of. The nurse also told me that I should have the doctor give her something that can make her not so nervous. I felt Really felt bad for Sarah, because that was some information received a little to too late. When they brought Sarah back, and she finally woke up she told us that she felt everything, hearing that from Sarah really made us feel bad. After she layed in bed for four hours with her leg straight we finally got leave the hospital to take her back to the hotel room,. for her to get rest and get ready for the next day of poking and prodding. Before we left Tucson the cardiac doctor told us that the biopsy went well, her heart pressures are good, and there is no harding of her arteries. Everything looks real good just what he would expect for a heart transplant just two year out. Of course we were so happy to hear that, but from now on for her dad and I every year we take Sarah to Tucson for her heart biopsy it will be like playing Russian roulette, and I cant even begin to tell you all how much we fear that date. I admire Sarah's strength we are just on the sidelines watching this game of life be played out, and just writing about it bring me to tears, and the thought of not have our daughter around is a pain to much to bear, so I will let you all go for now, thank you for your prayers, and well wishes. Please pray for our strength to carry on, and to live life as normal as possible.
