Thursday, May 10, 2007, Sarah fainted at school. She was taken to a local ER & then transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital with a diagnosis of restrictive cardiomyopathy.
July 5, 2007 Sarah received her new heart. However, during the transplant she suffered a massive stroke that left her paralyzed.

No talking - Day One

Hi everybody. Well the no talking has proven to be a little more difficult than I thought. Sarah's heart medications make her hands tremble, plus I think that with her pain medication it makes Sarah's hands shake even more. so it makes it a little bit harder to read her notes Sarah is also on a clear liquid diet until tomorrow, so I have been hand feeding her soup in bed. So far she has been a real trooper, and her only complaint was drawing a sad face on a piece of paper when I told she couldn't have cookies or a bagel until tomorrow. The doctor took a before and after picture of her vocal cords, you can also see her breathing tube. I'm debating on whether I should post it or not. I'm still not sure only because I don't want to freak you all out. I'll take a little survey around here, and see what I come out with. If anybody wants a say in the survey just leave me a comment letting me know if should post picture or not. Thank you all for reading, and will let you all know how day two goes.

Larry and Margaret Nolte
